Arrival
& Car Parking Facilities At
the time of booking we try to establish an estimated time of arrival with
our guests so that we are always here to welcome you on your arrival and
provide assistance with luggage if required. We generally try to have accommodation ready
for guests to arrive from 16.00hrs onwards with the latest check in time of
21.30hrs unless by prior arrangement. Off road parking around the circular drive is
provided on a tarmac surface with a gentle slope; however the initial slope
to the drive from the road is a bit steeper and owners of cars with a low ground clearance need to be aware of this during entry and exit. At night movement activated
security lights operate. From the driveway, the entrance to B&B
wing is up a gentle slope at the side of the house to a path under the
carport that leads to the accommodation entrance. There are no steps on this
route. During inclement weather guests can use the carport for shelter while loading/unloading their luggage if they so wish. Main
Entrance There are 3No paved steps to the
Front Door porch, which have a minimum width of 1.2 metres and an overall
height of 0.5 metres from the driveway. There is a small step into the
porch, which is 75mm high. Please ring the bell on your arrival. After you have been made welcome you will be
shown to the B&B wing entrance, which is at the side of the house. From
the main entrance to the B&B wing there is one step down to the carport
pathway, which has a depth of 100mm. The B&B wing entrance door has a
threshold up stand of 100mm above finished floor level. Public
Areas Reception / Breakfast Room / Bedroom Corridor
The Breakfast Room is a spacious area being
2.35 metres by 5.35metres that accommodates the dining area and provides
access to the ground floor bedrooms and conservatory. Access to the ground
floor bedrooms is via a dogleg corridor (6.25m
Long x 1.0m
wide). The
floors in the Breakfast Room/Bedroom Corridor are tiled throughout with 2No (200mm High x 1.0m
Wide) steps leading
into the Bedroom Corridor and 2No (200mm High by 900mm
Wide) steps leading
into the Conservatory with a door threshold up stand of 100mm above the top step.
Whilst the elevation of the steps is minimal all have handrails that
denote the presence of steps. Unfortunately owing to the dogleg configuration of
the steps access to the bedrooms for people in wheelchairs is restrictive as there is inadequate space for fitted ramps. The tiled steps to the Bedroom Corridor have an anti slip surface
treatment applied to the top edges. Heating is provided by a Thermapanel
Radiator thermostatically controlled. Furniture in the Breakfast Room consists of a
sideboard, a bench seat and a single leaf table that will seat 4 people. The
table has a 620mm under clearance with solid armless chairs
having a seat width of 450mm.
A
fridge is also located in the room for storage of cold drinks food and
guests medication. An area is also set aside for various guest information
leaflets and a visitor’s book. Conservator The Conservatory (3.5m x 3.2m) with its tiled
floor doubles as a guest’s lounge and also provides guests with access to
the garden. The Conservatory door threshold has an up stand of 100mm above finished floor level. Furniture in the
Conservatory consists of a sofa, 4 armchairs, a coffee table
and a mini Hi Fi
system.
A freestanding electric fan is also kept in the area mainly for summer use.
Heating is provided by a Thermapanel Radiator thermostatically controlled. The
Garden We have a large
mature back garden complete with patio that guests are welcome to take
advantage of when the weather permits. Apart for the patio there are several
seating areas away from there, where one can sit back in garden and take in
the relaxed atmosphere. The centrepiece of the front garden is an ornamental
fishpond, which is situated within the circular driveway with the remainder
of the frontage laid out to lawns and flower borders. Both the front and
back gardens are on gentle slopes and have access steps at various points,
which can be avoided. In the summer, weather
permitting breakfast can be served on the patio. The garden has been open to
the public on four occasions in order to raise money for charity and local
good causes. WC’s As both bedrooms are en suite there is no
requirement for a public toilet Guest
Accommodation Bedrooms There are two bedrooms, located on the ground
floor both are carpeted and both have tiled floor en-suite facilities
consisting of a shower WC and washbasin with lever handle taps. Tea and Coffee making facilities
are provided in both rooms along with remote controlled flat screen colour
